Join The Australian National University (ANU) for an evening of insight and connection at the Embassy of Australia in Washington, DC.Professor John Blaxland, Director of the ANU North American Liaison Office, will be joined by ANU alumnus Joe Kelly, Washington Correspondent for The Australian, for a fireside chat on Global Security Challenges: A View from Down Under.Together they’ll explore the shifting global landscape, from the Indo-Pacific to the corridors of power in Washington, examining the strategic challenges and opportunities shaping our shared future. This special evening offers the chance to engage in a thought-provoking discussion, ask questions, and reconnect with fellow ANU alumni and friends in a diplomatic setting.

Professor John BlaxlandProfessor of International Security & Intelligence Studies and Director of the ANU North American Liaison Office, Professor Blaxland is a recognised authority on military history, intelligence and security policy. A former Australian Army intelligence officer, he has authored numerous works on Australian defence and foreign-policy matters.
Joe KellyANU alumnus and Washington Correspondent for The Australian, Joe Kelly has reported extensively on global affairs and Australian politics, offering in-depth coverage from Washington and beyond.
