About this event

Join fellow alumni and friends as we meet again in Sydney to reconnect and deepen our knowledge together on Wednesday 23 October 2024. We have invited a special selection of highly accomplished alumni to share their experiences and lessons on defining a meaningful career in the law, sharing their lived journey and how ANU has shaped their legal careers.

This alumni panel discussion is a great opportunity for young alumni to gain useful insights on how to make the most impact as you start your legal career. Followed by a Q&A, our experts are ready to answer your topical questions and provide the insights into how you can succeed in your legal journey.

Organised by ANU Alumni volunteers in Sydney, Liam Brodrick (LLB (Hons) ‘22, BIntSecSt ‘22), Anna Coote (LLB (Hons) ‘21, BPPE ’21) and JJ Chen (MStratAff '09, BAsSt '05, BSc '05), this career focused event will be the perfect place for shared learning and mentoring. Register today to secure your spot.

Panel Speakers include:

  • The Honourable Justice Stephen Gageler AC (BEc ‘80, LLB ‘82, HonLLD ‘15), Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia;
  • Sophie Ryan (BA ‘07, LLB ‘07), Chief Executive Officer at Sony Foundation Australia;
  • Shannon Finch (BA (Hons) ‘92, LLB (Hons) ‘94), Westpac Group General Counsel; and
  • John Emmerig (BSc ‘86, LLB ‘87), Partner at Jones Day and preeminent litigator in Australia.
