Join fellow alumni and friends for an interactive seminar on healthy relationships, presented by Catherine Coles (LLB & BA (Hons) ‘08, GradDipLegPrac ‘09), Founding Director of the boutique family law firm Parker Coles Curtis.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to understand healthy relationships from a legal and financial perspective. Learn to spot red flags and seek help if you or someone you know is in an unhealthy relationship, addressing issues such as coercive control, financial abuse, and emotional manipulation.
Empower yourself with tactical ways to support friends and family who might be facing challenges in their relationships. This seminar offers a safe space for sharing experiences and an open forum to ask questions about these sometimes-taboo topics.
*This network is open to all female-identifying and non-binary alumni of ANU.
Described as a ‘graceful gladiator’ by a former client, Catherine Coles employs her formidable advocacy skills in appearances for her clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCoA) and ACT Magistrates Court.
An empathetic but straight-talking advisor, Catherine specialises in complex parenting matters, and has a 100 per cent success rate in these notoriously difficult cases. She is highly experienced in all areas of family law, including property settlements and financial agreements, children’s custody (care arrangements), child support and family violence matters. Catherine is multi-skilled and regularly assists clients in dispute resolution processes including negotiation and mediation.
She is also a Council member for the ACT Law Society and elected to the Family Violence & Children’s Committee and volunteers at the Women’s Legal Centre and the ACT Law Society Pro Bono Legal Advice Bureau, mentors law students from ANU and UC and has been elected as a council member on the ACT Law Society and Canberra Region Family Law Professional Association.
