The simplest way to get involved is by making a gift to the ANU Student Urgent Relief Fund.

What is the Student Urgent Relief Fund?

The ANU Student Urgent Relief Fund (SURF) provides quick-response financial support to students from all colleges who are experiencing unexpected hardship. It helps cover unforeseen expenses such as medical needs, bereavement or family-related travel, especially when other avenues aren’t available.

SURF offers support, stability and security so students can continue their studies and remain connected to the ANU community. Together, we can ensure our vibrant and committed student community is supported to reach its full potential.

Can I choose to give to a different area of ANU?

You can browse our full list of funds and make a donation to causes that matter most to you.

Does my entire donation go to the fund?

Yes. 100 per cent of every donation is directed to the Student Urgent Relief Fund, or the fund of your choice.

Are donations to Student Urgent Relief Fund tax deductible?

All donations to ANU of $2 or more are tax deductible for Australian taxpayers. For more information, please visit How to Give.

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?

Yes. If you make a gift online, you’ll receive your receipt by email once your payment has been processed. If you set up a recurring gift, a consolidated receipt will be issued at the end of the financial year. You can access your donation summary for previous financial years at any time by logging in to your ANU donor portal.
