What is the Student Urgent Relief Fund?

The ANU Student Urgent Relief Fund provides students from all colleges with quick response financial support for unforeseen expenses like medical needs, bereavement, or family care related travel when other avenues might not be an option.

SURF offers quick, equitable financial assistance for when the unexpected happens. Together, we can ensure that our community of vibrant and committed students are supported to reach their full potential.

Can I choose to give to a different area of ANU?

Of course. You can search our list of funds by clicking here and make a donation to causes important to you.

Are donations to Student Urgent Relief Fund are tax deductible?

All donations to ANU of $2 or more are tax deductible for Australian taxpayers. For more information, please visit How to Give.

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?

Yes. If you have made a gift online, you will receive your receipt via email once payment has been processed. If you have chosen to make a recurring gift, your receipt will be available at the end of the financial year. You can access your donation summary for previous financial years at any time, by logging in to your ANU donor portal.

The ANU Student Call Room is the beating heart of all our appeals.

Calls made by current students at the ANU are an invitation to engage more actively in the life of the University. Speaking with a student opens the opportunity to connect directly with what’s happening on campus, share your experiences, and discuss ways you can give back.
